You might say that this is hot off the proverbial press: Adele published a music video on YouTube earlier today, her first in years.
Adele, you may have noticed, has been rather absent from the world of music since her Academy Award-winning ‘Skyfall,’ from the James Bond movie of the same name, in 2012.
In fact, she has admitted herself that she’s been slow to produce music. In a letter to fans, she explained that “life happened.”
That changes with this release, ‘Hello.’ She says that when she wrote this song, a beautiful post-break-up ballad, everything “all pouring out of me.”
“My last record was a break-up record and if I had to label this one, I would call it a make-up record. Making up for lost time. Making up for everything I ever did and never did. Turning 25 was a turning point for me, slap bang in the middle of my twenties. Teetering on the edge of being an adolescent and a fully fledged adult.”
He new album, titled 25, is set to be released on November 20, just in time for you to buy it for Adele fan friends and family for the holidays.
This video, strangely, was filmed on IMAX, the first music video to ever be done in that format.
Obviously, the title of the album reflects her age in the above quote and how seminal it was for her. She is now 27.
