For some reason, I’m in the mood to showcase the versatility of Taylor Swift’s music!
This one, Both of Us, is particularly different from anything she has previously done.
I’m not a big fan of rap, by any means, but the juxtaposition of the two sounds is really appealing to me for some reason. It’s very similar to Eminem’s collaboration with Rihanna, neatly mixing rap with the beautiful voice of Taylor Swift.
Both of Us performed well, hitting the charts throughout the English-speaking world (reaching the 18th spot in the U.S.), with acclaim being heaped on her portion of the song particularly.
The song was Ms. Swift’s idea, and talks about bullying and racism if you listen to the lyrics.
She definitely knows how to make the most of her voice and wide-spread appeal!
