In the process of looking for another artist (who I can’t even recall who it was because of her), I happened to stumble across this artist. She was completely new to me, but perhaps if I watched American Idol more I would recognize her.
Her name is Lauren Daigle and she tried out for the Fox network show in 2010, 2011 and 2012. She has an incredibly beautiful voice. The first song I heard of hers reminded me of Adele. I don’t think she quite has the power of Adele, but she has more than a passing similarity, if you ask me. Of course, I don’t have an ear for music like some.
Lauren Daigle was raised in Lafayette, Louisiana being influenced by Zydeco, Cajun and Blues music. Her latest album, How Can It Be, was even nominated at this year’s Grammy Awards for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album. This song, ‘Once and For All’, was released in 2014.
It’s somehow not very surprising to me, given how beautiful her work is. She has a powerful voice that is bound to keep her floating around the music industry for years to come. The twenty four year old Daigle currently reside in Atlanta, Georgia and has a record contract that will likely ensure her continued presence.
