I had never heard of Alesso prior to seeing this video. But I have to say that I’m pretty impressed with the cinematic, feature film quality of it. It’s even shot in super wide angle, so you might want to view in full screen.
Alesso teamed up with Tove Lo for ‘Heroes (We Could Be)’ for this song. Alesso is the DJ who wrote the song and he’s the one that breaks the angel out of the institute where she’s kept. Tove Lo is the singer.
Both are native to Stockholm, Sweden. Alesso is gaining in popularity, having worked with the likes of Avicii, OneRepublic, Calvin Harris, and Usher. He even opened for Madonna during her 2012 tour, where she called him “the next big thing in dance music.” He’s also performed at various big music festivals.
Tove Lo hasn’t quite reached the level of fame of her counterpart, but she garnered enough attention to get a record deal after the success of her song, ‘Habits’ (below), which has a similar theme as Sia’s ‘Chandelier‘.
