Cody Simpson is definitely not a huge star in anyone’s book. However, he definitely has a potentially promising career and is certainly a popular figure with teenagers.
Simpson has had a couple pretty big hits, though. His single ‘New Problems’ from his self-released album this year has had a couple million views on YouTube and he had both of his previous albums show up on Billboard charts.
The Australian native has relocated to the Los Angeles area and is working to keep his young career alive. Depending on how he works things, the eighteen year old could become quite a name. But I suspect that he’ll need to just put his head down and focus on creating good music for the next while until he makes a true hit.
He released a couple albums with Atlantic, but he’s currently not signed with any label. In fact, he has his own label.
He has briefly dated two models, Kylie Jenner and Gigi Hadid. He has also hired Justin Bieber’s manager to help his career along. Not a bad idea, given that Bieber has had quite the success with what I assume is Simpson’s target audience: tween and teenage girls.
That being said, I actually enjoy this simple song, ‘Livin Easy.’
