I Love When Covers Are Better Than Originals! Bastille Mashes Up Miley Cyrus And Her Father!

This is an amazing cover! I’ve posted a song by Bastille before, but I really just stumbled on this one while YouTube was on continuous play. I didn’t even recognize the song when I went to look at it to see who it was and what song it was.

To be honest, I’m not a huge fan of the original Miley Cyrus song (my least favorite part is where she rhymes ‘bathroom’ with ‘bathroom’). But, as I like to do, I’ll post it below so you can compare the two.

But when Bastille does ‘We Can’t Stop’, and then mashes it up with ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ by her father Billy Ray Cyrus, the results are incredible! It’s a nice nod to the man who, as a result of his smash 1992 hit, is the reason Miley Cyrus is even in our collective conscience.

The original video for the song generated a lot of controversy, ushering in a new image that Miley Cyrus has since been cultivating.
