I’ve discussed my love of Pink before, but this song is the perfect exemplification of her beauty and power.
This video isn’t easy to watch, frankly. You’ll see what I mean as you get into it. But ‘Perfect’ has a clear message: growing up is difficult, but we need to embrace and love ourselves.
Everyone is different. Perhaps none of us feel like we truly belong to the “in” crowd, particularly while we are growing up. And being different is not only okay, it’s a good thing. And when we learn that “Yes, I’m different,” then we can perhaps embrace that about ourselves and learn to funnel that into something productive. In the case of the girl in the video, she funneled it into art.
MTV praised Pink for the video, saying it’s a “moving call to awareness about a growing problem surrounding depression, numbness and powerlessness that leads to cutting and suicide. Her intention, as usual, is to ruffle a few feathers and shake a few sleepers as she points out ‘You can’t move mountains by whispering at them.'”
Pink certainly isn’t afraid of ruffling a few feathers, although unlike artists like Miley Cyrus, she doesn’t do it for the sake of nothing more than publicity.

This is hard to watch, but hopefully it will help so many young people going through some of the same things. Powerful video!
I’ve liked some songs from Pink. Thanks for sharing this important message about a problem that so many people are dealing with nowadays.
I like the song but I like the message even better. It’s really important to embrace our differences.
I love how Pink can shed a positive light on such heartwrenching situations. She’s a great role model for us as adults as well as our children. Thank you for sharing this video.
What a great message! It’s only when there is a ongoing conversation about it that those who struggle with depression and self-harm are more able to ask for help and support. Kudos to Pink for doing this video!
I’m a big fan of Pink. She is beautiful and amazing and it is powerful when she speaks out that we are all different, and unique and therefore perfect.

It’s great when someone reaches out to really and try to help. If everyone would embrace each other’s differences, the world really would be such a nicer place.

Pink is one of those artists who (I assume) writes her own lyrics.. such power! I love a song that has a meaning behind it, we have so many senseless songs nowadays..

I think pink perfect is awesome! I’ve always admired her strengths and her amazing vocals. Great artist. .
I love Pink and her music is wonderful, but this is one song that makes me think of my husband’s ex-wife. She made it her theme song when they were divorcing. She cheated on him and even kicked him out of his own home to bring her boyfriend in, and then played the victim. Unfortunately, every time I hear this song I think of her.
I don’t really listen to her music, but because of this I think I will check her out. Sounds like she’s a great person!!

I’ve loved Pink ever since her R&B days and her hair was actually PINK! I love her and pretty much anything she puts out is amazing!
